At the time, it was the best viewpoint of the city for whalers and was also used on days of bad weather as a lookout in order to alert boats of the right time to head back to harbour.

Some say that everything starts with but a dream. One might even say that without dreams, the human mind would simply wither up and die. So it’s no surprise that the project Atalaye – Bain de Biarritz saw the day late one night in 2014 , behind closed eyes.

The French brand is forever inspired by Biarritz-la-Belle. Biarritz, Queen of the Beaches. A charismatic Biarritz that has never ceased to inspire poet’s souls and which appears somewhat as a refuge for the elegance of Mankind. Like it’s muse, the brand is well-refined. Swimming and bathing are it’s favorite pastime. Exemplary, an irreplaceable icon, faithful to the likes of Coco Chanel, forever cool and classy underneath her hat, or to an enamoured Pablo Picasso. As demanding as a love story, it is a pure perfectionist, as meticulous as a tightrope walker,with an obsession for details like any true art lover.

Historically, the Ideal City has always been majestically different to others, «For mine are the winds, the stars and the sea.» Because here, there is but elegance and class, right from the hydrangeas which grow along the the Grande Plage down through the Art Deco lines of the famous Casino. Because here, the writers shall blacken their white pages. Because here, urban communities shall find a second youth and friends on holiday shall jump with joy. Because here, you shall leave this place with wet feet and a warm heart. It was this rich history and good lifestyle that captivated the founders of Atalaye, «We have fallen head over heels in love with the town of Biarritz and therefore wish to create a product that brings it the credit it deserves. »

THE QUALITY

Our swimming shorts are made in Portugal, in workshops specializing in swimwear.The fabrics we use are manufactured locally and are specifically made for swimming.Tightly woven for extra strength and quick drying.They are endowed with antibacterial and anti-UV properties and have a high resistance to chlorine. Haberdashery (snap fasteners, tips, eyelets) are also locally designed, made fully from stainless metals. For reasons of quality and comfort, all the seams of our shorts are doubled,which limits the effects of friction and wear and tear.

THE CUT

All Atalaye swimming trunks have the same cut: short and comfortable.The elasticated waistbelt (four stitches) suits all body types. Their smart casual style ensures you comfort, ease and style in all your summer sports: swimming, diving, surfing, reading, lounging, flirting, eating ice cream, enjoying life.
