Camplin

The story of Camplin began at the end of the 19th Century, when the Camplin brand became known in the military environment, as the first Royal Navy supplier of an exclusive garment: the Peacoat.

A success deriving from the brilliant intuition of the Camplin family, Robert in particular, who invented this unique garment, capable of dressing British Royal Naval Officers to perfection.
A practical, versatile jacket, modern and at the same time traditional, thanks to which the inventor was awarded the prestigious Naval General Service Medal, which went on to become an original detail of the Peacoat.

An iconic and unique garment: it was Robert Camplin who had the idea of suggesting the Peacoat for use as part of the uniform of Petty Officers, to distinguish them from seamen and from the Great Coat worn by senior officers. His idea became a jacket designed to evoke the importance of a coat while allowing practicality of movement.

Today just as yesterday, Camplin proposes an original style that evokes the Heritage tradition, with a nod to modernity and personalisation, luxury and practicality: the brand was reborn 12 years ago in Italy, also extending beyond the borders of Europe, thanks to the exclusivity of each product made.
